I know, I know!!!

Glory Daze....Daddy's flag football team! GO DAD GO!

This reminds me of a scene from Forrest Gump

It has been over a month since I have last blogged and trust me I keep hearing about it :)
Now that Crosby is mobile getting things done tends to be a tad more difficult. When there is a "free" moment during his nap time my day consists of catching up on laundry, straightening up after the toy explosion, planning the next meal and showering if the day allows! :)
Crosby started crawling 2 days after the initial "step". I thought he would be in the kneel, rock, fall stage for a while but he amazed me and was taking off like a bat out of hell in no time flat. That sucker can fly. I should be 5 pounds thinner from chasing him around but that has not happened.

Crosby continues to attend his baby yoga class and boy do we both need it. I love our little mom group and it's so nice that you can find moms that I mesh well with. What a rewarding class this has truly been. Now that the kiddos are crawling, rolling, or slithering around the attention span for yoga has dwindled. The kids are so intrigued with one another and it is awesome to sit back and watch the interaction. They are really in their own world and we're just here to "observe". Crosby tends to steal toys and I know that's not his intention but I hope I'm not raising a bully!
So we hit yoga on Tues and Musikgarten on Thurs. We were lucky enough to have a class organized on a day that was good for us and didn't interfere with yoga. The class is great, the babies sit on our laps, play with wooden "instruments" and watch as we (the moms) make idiots out of ourselves with mesh scarves....hmmmm. I only wish that my child participated like that. Instead Crosby decides it's time to break free from the mommy hold an high tale it for every other mom, infant or toy. Again, I chase him around :) He has a tendency of crawling to the middle of the circle and just sitting there for the class to admire him....okay yes that does sound familiar! We'll say he gets a little bit of that from me....just a little!

Crosby's Big Day

Crosby was baptized on August 10th and the ceremony was great. We had almost all of our family here and it just showed how loved Crosby is. Of course he'll hate us later for dressing him in his white outfit but boy it was cute! We had a nice BBQ/meet & greet the evening before and then we took over the back of the church on Sunday morning. Crosby did great and once again wooed the congregation. Erik thinks that he's the church mascot. After brunch at our house our family got on the road and Erik and I began demolishing our kitchen.

Yeah, many of you are saying What the French? Well, long story short we had to get a new kitchen because of appliance issues so currently I'm looking at new cabinets, freshly painted green walls, new appliances, botched up drywall from the previous back splash and cardboard countertops. NICE and so desirable I swear! Our countertops should be installed this Friday and after 3 days of the sink "settling" we can use the kitchen. Ahhhhh.....We are and have been washing dishes in the guest bathroom. I didn't think it would be too bad and after about 2 wks it got really old....I mean freaking ancient! But you do what you have to do and realize that it could be worse! I think the most stressful part of it all was painting. I didn't mind when I stood on the chair to do the "cutting in" but when it came time to climb Ladder St Helen's I realized that I can panic and cry like a baby. So here I am at the top of the gazillion foot ladder, shaking, leaning against the wall and begging Erik to hold my legs. I felt somewhat "secure" until I had to reach to get to where the cathedral ceiling met the wall. Well that's when I really started to freak. Poor Erik who is head level with my toosh unfortunately gets some nervous gas blown in his direction from yours truly. I then proceed to tell him that I am a wife and a mother for God sakes and if I fall then the family will miss me dearly, the dogs then start to whimper and I again feel as if this is my last day on Earth. Needless to say, I made it down the ladder with the wall painted and full of sweat. Mission accomplished, right? WHATEVER!!!!!!

Back to the point of the blog....Crosby!

He's ready to walk! He has been pulling up on things ever since he could crawl but he has been a lot more daring lately. Just today I was able to get some video of him "walking". I'm amazed at how good he is. Now I know we have a way to go and I'm okay with that but he really is pretty good. He has discovered everything he's not supposed to and will put anything in his mouth. He loves our little sweeper, which is awesome because he'll be the one to vacuum in the house! He really likes to flip it up, pull the dog hair out and put it in his mouth. Yeah, GROSS! Erik thought he got it all one day and I looked at him and Crosby had a full on goatee and one sideburn....again...GROSS!!! He really keeps us on our toes. Speaking of that....don't let him get too close because apparently those are pretty enticing!

He loves looking out the window and surveying what is going on. Adorable! Climbing the 2 steps is a mastered skill, attempting to go down on his own and bruising his face...again, a mastered skill. Parenthood is incredible and watching Crosby everyday warms my heart. He will reach for me just to get a hug and that is the most rewarding thing EVER! He says mom-mom, bababa, and most recently he let out a dada. Grocery shopping is one of his favorite errands... (thank you Publix for having balloons everywhere). I really have no complaints!

How much is that Crosby in the window?

Crosby is 8 1/2 months old, no teeth, still blonde as can be and definitely the coolest kid I've ever met! I hope this finds you all well and my goal is to not be a dead beat blogger!!!

And...Happy 4th Anniversary to us!
