HA HA, HUH?

Hi all! Happy late St Patty's Day and Easter. We have been having so much fun! Crosby has been laughing and smiling as if he is getting paid to do so. He is such a happy kid and wants to be involved.
We celebrated St. Patty's Day like any parents of a 2 1/2 month old would do, at home with some homemade brew! My sister Chrissy and her boyfriend Kyle came over for dinner and he treated us to some of the beer he has made the weekend before. Boy was it YUMMY!!! We decked Crosby out in his Leprechaun hat and had to take the embarrassing pictures. He didn't seem to mind it, he's a trooper!

Did someone say green milk?
Last Saturday I started laughing next thing I know, Crosby is letting out his first laugh. Yes, to us a big HUH was a laugh. Now mind you it took everything he had but he was definitely trying to mimic me. It was great. He is "talking" a lot and it is so entertaining. It really melts your heart to hear the babbling, such an innocent sound. I now have only 4 days to go until I go into work and I am still dreading it. I have been crying daily at the thought of leaving Crosby. I know it will be good for all of us but I cannot see to fathom the idea of saying good-bye just to take care of another baby. It doesn't seem right. I'm going to tough it out and try it but I make no promises! I would hate to miss any of his moments. When I'm gone will he have a new conversation with himself, a babbling sound I haven't heard before? Will he know that he won't get a good night kiss from his mommy right at bedtime? I can't believe that I will miss watching him kick around in his bath tub. I know that I'll only be gone for a few hours but I have a feeling it's going to feel like a lifetime!
Erik's dad came up for a brief visit and was able to spend some time with Crosby, some much needed Grandpa lovin'! Easter rolled around and we celebrated with my mom visiting as well as having brunch with Chrissy and Kyle. Crosby donned his bunny ears and was, once again, a trooper. They didn't seem to bother him at all.

Here comes Crosby Cottontail

Now that Crosby is a little shy of 3 months his wake times have changed. He truly wants to "play" anything from story time, tummy time or batting at his toys, he wants the interaction. Taking walks would usually knock him out for a good little nap but now that we have put him in the stroller facing out, he is completely fascinated with the scenery. He now refuses to fall asleep, afraid that he may miss something. Erik and I even attempted a long walk and he was awake the whole way. I even changed his diaper while he was sitting in the stroller (talent? I sure think so) because we were away long enough for him to soak himself.

Stroller ride or bust!

Each day brings new games, sounds, and expressions. I am amazed that I am able to love him more and more everyday! Erik and I are so blessed with such an awesome dude! Mako has really taken to him and is now napping in Crosby nursery at the same times Crosby naps. I even found him in his room last night too. Buddies already? We are a family and what a sense of security that is!
