Frozen tooshie?

The taper runs have begun and we completed an 8 on by far the coldest days. I think it was 35 degrees and the fields were covered with frost. It was actually pretty cool (no pun intended). As we ran I was amazed that I was surviving the cold weather until of course I had to tinkle. There was no choice and no other crazy people on the trail so I was clear. I realized how incredibly cold it was when I pulled up my shorts and could NOT feel them creep over my toosh. What the heck. Was my tooshie frozen? Erik and I laughed about that for the next 3 miles and when we were done with the run I then realized how much I was praying for cold weather for the 1/2. I had a great run and felt wonderful!
A few days later we ran 5 miles, our last trek before the big day. It was so incredibly muggy out compared to the last run we had. It was difficult to breath and I began worrying that if the weather was warm that I would not favor well in the race. Anxiety struck and my fear of not finishing settled in. I needed to stay positive and I really tried. Erik and I have endured months of training and this was our last run together before we experienced thousands of people encroching on our running space. There were many things that would be different and that too was a fear.
Everyone completed their 5 miles and felt great, I did not :( What was going to happen...da da da. I'm going to miss our "Roll Calls" for the trail. The amount of effort put into this upcoming race has been unremarkable. I couldn't be any prouder of a group of people!
