St Mark Trail

St Marks Trail:
Where Leon County meets Wakulla
Where surrounding houses have more than 6 cars parked in their yard
Where humans battle giant spiders
Where you hear "ON YOUR LEFT"
Where you pass more than 10 churches AND
Where I completed a 7 mile run!

Sunday mornings are run/walk days for my friends doing Disney's 1/2. I definitely go when I can (which is more often than not). We start off, go at our own pace and all feel the same sense of accomplishment when we cross the finish line. There are many mornings that we have worked 12 hours the night before, put our best foot forward and run for another hour+. It's great! Well, not necessarily while you're driving there praying your eyelids stay open from working so much but once you finish the run; it really is great!

I'm so proud of myself and my friends. We are so dedicated to beating ourselves and crossing that finish line in January that I can almost taste duck (sorry Donald). I know that 13 miles isn't too far away and I'm eager to see the thousands of people who are striving for the same goal!

So here's to another Sunday at St Marks, my "religious" getaway. I talk to myself, chat with the birds and well look flat out crazy but guess what....I DON'T CARE. I'm running and it feels awesome!
